Program Overview via the Milwaukee Bar Association
In two recent cases, the Wisconsin Supreme Court set forth that an insurer’s duty to defend obligation is strictly determined by comparing the four-corners of the underlying complaint to the policy (referred to as the “four-corners rule”) without exception and that policy exclusions can be considered under the four-corners rule. This program details the impact of these decisions and important considerations for plaintiffs, insureds, and insurers moving forward.
Joseph and Dieter are members of the firm’s litigation practice group and focus on complex commercial and insurance litigation. Both spend portions of their practice on advising insurers and insureds on insurance coverage issues.
