Max Chester joined MTFN Oct. 1 as a shareholder after spending the previous 25 years with Foley & Lardner LLP (15 of them as a partner). Max is a 2001 graduate of the MULS (magna cum laude, 2nd in class) and has broad commercial litigation experience with contract disputes, business torts, post-acquisition disputes, and shareholder/member litigation, with a particular focus on insurance and reinsurance industries.
He has participated in more than a dozen trials and final evidentiary hearings in reinsurance arbitration matters. Max has significant experience with complex cross-border disputes, international commercial arbitration, and counseling and investigations concerning US companies’ compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He also frequently counsels foreign clients on conducting business in the U.S. He is a native Russian speaker and is fluent in Ukrainian.
