Meissner Tierney Fisher & Nichols s.c.is honored to have three of our attorneys selected for inclusion in BizTimes Media 2022 Rising Stars in Law. To be considered, up-and-coming nominees needed to demonstrate their impact on cases, take initiative at the firm, mentor associates, and assume leadership roles within the community.

Based on these criteria, Meissner Tierney Shareholders Garrett A. Soberalski, Scott T. Reigle, and Associate Attorney Jacob A. Sonsay were selected. Below is a short introduction to each of our honorees:

Garrett A. Soberalski

After clerking for the Honorable G. Michael Halfenger, Attorney Soberalski joined us as an associate attorney. Because of his mastery of the law and dedication to the firm, he now holds a seat as a Shareholder. Garrett’s impact extends past the office walls and reaches the Notre Dame School of Milwaukee students. As a volunteer for their after-school clubs, he works directly with students to improve their cursive handwriting and basic survival skills. The after-school clubs ensure that the kids have somewhere safe to be and allow them to learn in a fun, non-threatening environment.

For the third year in a row, Garrett was invited to speak on issues pertaining to real estate law at the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Annual Conference.

Fellow Shareholder Attorney William T. Stuart shares, “Garrett has exceptional analytical skills which allows him to not only quickly identify the pertinent legal issues in a matter, but to also find the likely outcomes resulting from those legal issues. His accomplishments are unparalleled for his age group. He has successfully handled a variety of highly complex matters both in both real estate litigation and transactional work. His superior intellect and common-sense approach to the practice of law have served him well in all those matters and his overall practice of law.”

Scott T. Reigle

Attorney Reigle returned to Wisconsin just as the pandemic hit and the Meissner Tierney office went remote. Despite not being able to interact much with his fellow attorneys for the first four months, he made real connections and built trust. His work ethic, sense of humor and humility proves him to be a perfect fit for MTFN and earned him a place as a Shareholder in less than two years after joining the firm. Scott has presented educational sessions at BizTimes Media’s Family and Closely Held Business Summit and their Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum, highlighting his knowledge and expertise. In addition, attorney Reigle sits on Meissner Tierney Fisher & Nichols S.C.’s marketing committee and is on the board of directors of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers.

When asked about Attorney Reigle, Shareholder Michael J. Cohen shares, “Scott is a cerebral lawyer who has exceptionally high-level analytical skills. In addition, Scott has done a great job of managing and mentoring younger lawyers in the firm and paralegals.”

Jacob A. Sosnay

Attorney Sosnay’s easy-going demeanor continues to be a considerable asset to MTFN, as it puts our junior associates and paralegals at ease and makes for a successful mentoring relationship. This year, he has served as a role model to five individuals, including a law clerk who was a first-year law student.

In addition to his natural leadership abilities, Jake’s knowledge and command of the law have made him invaluable to our litigation team. He is successfully growing his practice in civil rights litigation along with the insurance defense and coverage work he currently does for the firm.

To highlight Jake’s mentorship, colleague Samuel G. Morris shares, “Jake has been an extraordinary mentor to me since I started at Meissner Tierney this past January. He’s a terrific attorney and an even better person on top of it. No matter how busy he is, he always makes time to help me out when I have a question or just to check in to see how I’m doing.”

We congratulate our BizTimes Media “Rising Stars in Law” and expect great things from them as they progress in their careers.
