On March 26, 2024, attorney Jacob A. Sosnay of Meissner Tierney Fisher & Nichols S.C. secured a unanimous verdict in federal court regarding 14th Amendment claims involving the provision of healthcare for an incarcerated Plaintiff.

The plaintiff alleged that law enforcement officers unreasonably withheld healthcare by neglecting to adequately inform jail medical staff about inaccuracies in discharge paperwork from an external medical visit, consequently causing a delay in necessary follow-up care.

The jury determined that neither officer infringed upon the Plaintiff’s rights and that the healthcare provided was objectively reasonable. As a result, the issue of damages was not deliberated upon.
